Overview
Jeremy Sarachan (Media and Communication), Chair
The media management program combines public relations, advertising, marketing, social media, media economics, and analytics to prepare students to communicate in our ever-changing media and social media landscape. From research to planning and implementation to measurement, students learn how to strategically communicate on behalf of a business or organization. Through the study and application of strategic and integrated communication, students learn how to craft messaging and content to appeal to target audiences across various media and platforms. They also learn how to interpret and analyze data to make effective decisions.
In addition to our rigorous academic program, The PRIMA Group, our award-winning student-run integrated public relations firm, offers a full range of services for on- and off-campus clients. Our chapter of PRSSA, the Public Relations Student Society of America, offers students career exploration, seminars, and networking opportunities with industry professionals.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in national competitions like PRSSA's Bateman Competition, and attend national conferences.
We offer small classes and personalized attention in a liberal arts setting. The College's proximity to downtown Rochester, New York provides students with access to multiple internships, class partnerships with local organizations and nonprofits, and networking opportunities at agencies, media outlets, businesses and corporations.
The media management major leads to a Bachelor of Science degree.
