AILI-101 AI: Foundations & Impacts (3)
This foundational course provides a comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence (AI), tracing its historical development, examining its core concepts and diverse applications, and analyzing its profound impact on society. Students will explore the different types of AI, including narrow AI and generative AI, exploring how they work and delve into key milestones that have shaped the development of this technology over time. The course critically examines the strengths and weaknesses of AI technologies, addressing critical issues such as hallucinations, bias, ethical dilemmas, privacy concerns, and copyright implications. This course will also explore the recent developments in AI and its use in other technology fields. Through case studies and discussions, students will investigate AI’s transformative role in various industries and its implications for the future of work. Students will gain hands-on experience using a variety of AI platforms through the course as well.
