Requirements
Introductory Course – 3 credits
- AFAM 150D – P5 Introduction to African American Studies (3)
Electives – 15 credits
Choose FIVE courses from the following (two MUST be at the 300-level or higher):
- All AFAM courses
- HIST 304 – Hip Hop and Punk Rock
- HIST 322 – Reconstruction and Race
- HIST 353 – The Civil Rights Movement
- ENGL 335 – African American Literature
- SOCI 344 – Social Determinants of Health
- POSC 365 – Reproductive Rights through a Black Feminist Lens
- SUST 304 – Environmental Racism
Total: 18 credits
Note: Courses may not be used for credit in the student’s major and the AFAM minor without permission of the minor program director. A grade point average of 2.00 is required for all courses taken in residence that may be applied to the minor.
