Minor in Spanish/Latino Culture for Health Professions
Requirements
- Choose THREE electives from any LSPN course
- LSPN 235 – Conversational Spanish for Health I (3)**
- LSPN 236 – Conversational Spanish for Health II (3)
- SOCI 217D – Latino Health Care Issues (3)
Total: 18 credits
*According to the student’s proficiency level when entering the program; see Language Placement and Course Sequencing Guidelines.
**LSPN 235 requires previous completion of LSPN 112 – P5 Elementary Spanish II, or equivalent proficiency. Students with the ability to begin the program at the 235 level should consult with the director for appropriate advising.
NOTE: No more than one course used for the Spanish major may also be used for this minor
Students choosing to do the minor in Spanish may not do the minor in Spanish/Latino Culture for Health Professions.
Students choosing to pursue Spanish as the Single Language Track in the Languages and Cultures minor may not do the minors in Spanish nor Spanish/Latino Culture for Health Professions.
A study abroad semester is strongly encouraged. Up to 6 credits may be applied to this minor from study abroad.
