The minor includes courses that address political, cultural, literary, and economic issues critical to people of African descent, particularly those living in the United States. The minor provides a comprehensive liberal arts education that includes a scholarly perspective on the history and achievements of African Americans, while also encouraging students to be positive and productive citizens of a transnational world.
