Athletics
On the intercollegiate level, men compete in 13 varsity sports: basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, soccer, football, cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, lacrosse, volleyball, wrestling and ice hockey. Women compete in 14 varsity sports: basketball, soccer, tennis, softball, volleyball, golf, cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, field hockey, rowing, lacrosse and ice hockey. Cheerleading is also considered a varsity sport and open to men and women.
Participation in intramural athletics is open to current students not competing in the same sports at the varsity or junior varsity level. Intramural competition is available each semester.
The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Athletic Center houses a 30,000-square-foot open-span, multipurpose field house which hosts all the indoor intramural leagues, student recreational activities, and varsity team practices throughout the school year. The center also houses a two-tier fitness room and a weight room. Additionally, the facility boasts varsity locker rooms, a sports medicine suite, a state-of-the-art film room, ample meeting and office spaces, and fitness facilities.
Growney Stadium is home to numerous athletic programs and is an all-weather, lighted, artificial-turf stadium that allows for all-season and night-time play for intercollegiate contests, practices, and intramural activities
The Polisseni Track and Field Complex features a grandstand that seats over 1,000 fans, team locker rooms, public restrooms, and a press box. The lighted complex has an eight-lane, 400-meter competition track, which surrounds a natural grass multipurpose playing field.
On the south campus is Dugan Yard, one of the finest collegiate baseball facilities in New York State, along with the Dugan Player Development Center, the Softball Complex, track and field throws space, and two grass fields that provide additional opportunities for intramural leagues, recreation, and practices.
St. John Fisher is the first collegiate partner of the Rochester Ice Center, located in Fairport, NY. The facility features three full-size hockey rinks with heated spectator seating. The men’s and women’s ice hockey teams will call this facility home for their inaugural season in 2025.
Dining Services
Fisher Dining Services provides a variety of convenient dining options across campus. All dining locations accept board meal plans, Cardinal Cash, and major credit cards. For up-to-date hours of operation, daily menus, and student events visit our Dining Services website.
Ward-Haffey Dining Hall
Located at the heart of campus, Ward-Haffey Dining Hall is the primary dining venue and is open seven days a week. This all-you-care-to-eat experience features a wide selection of rotating entrées, international cuisine, grill items, a salad bar, desserts, and more. For students on the go, Ozzi reusable takeout containers are available as a sustainable alternative.
Cyber Café (Golisano Gateway)
A campus favorite for coffee lovers and quick bites, Cyber Café proudly serves Starbucks beverages alongside freshly baked pastries, hot breakfast sandwiches, soups, grab-and-go salads, wraps, snacks, and desserts. Open Monday through Friday, it’s the perfect stop for a pick-me-up between classes.
Fisher Sub Shoppe (Murphy Hall)
Fisher Sub Shoppe allows students to customize their sub sandwich just the way they like it. In the mornings, a full bagel bar and other breakfast options are available. Open seven days a week.
SONO Grill (Michaelhouse)
The SONO Grill offers made-to-order Latin American-inspired cuisine. The menu consists of bowls, tacos, and burritos with a variety of proteins, veggies, and toppings. Open Monday to Friday for lunch.
Pioch Commons Café
Located in the newly renovated Pioch Commons, this grab-and-go café offers a streamlined selection of Cyber Café favorites, including Starbucks Coffee, ready-made meals, and snacks — perfect for busy days. Open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch.
Safety and Security
The Office of Safety and Security, located in Haffey Hall, is responsible for campus safety and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Security officers are responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local laws, as well as University policies and regulations. Although security officers do not make arrests, the department works closely with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in investigating and reporting criminal activity on our campus. The department will make timely reports to the campus community of incidents that represent a threat to students and employees. The Advisory Committee on Campus Safety will provide upon request all campus crime statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education. Crime Statistics reported to the Department of Education are publicly available on the University website as well as the U.S. Department of Education’s website for campus crime statistics.

Fisher Sponsored Transportation to Civic Engagement Sites
Students are ultimately responsible for finding their own transportation to off-campus programs/civic engagement sites. Nevertheless, subject to availability, budgeting limits and other transportation demands, SJF will endeavor to provide transportation to off-campus programs for Scholars who live on campus. SJF has no liability for any transportation method used by any student, other than transportation on official SJF vehicles. Please plan accordingly.
